The Feather (Fire) Fan and the Scythe

The Feather Fan and the Scythe are essential elements in the story of the comet. The Feather Fan (of fire) brought the excessive heat to the world below and the Scythe cut that world asunder, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Mar Vermejo (Red Sea) of Hernan de Cortés.
Although there are many pictures in the Codices that relate to it, there is little said about this comet. No one quite understands why any comet could be so important as to be mentioned in practically every manuscript around the world.
