Who is Three Flint?
Three Flint is found in the Nuttall Codex. This picture of her
shows her name Three Flint clearly. Yet, in other parts of the same codex,
she has
different forms. Is this her
name or does Three Flint signify only a series of dates? What kind of association
does she have with her origins? A small clue is found on page 5.
In the second column next to the headless jewel-eyed bird, a
two-headed person (comet?) holds a torch. A small white dot in the red
section of the torch indicates that the image under the yellow flames is
a bird form. A bird with fire on its back, exactly the same concept as
the Hawaiian version of the great blue star URI and her messenger. (The
references to this is found in the Creation of the Maya World.)
The question I ask is: Was the Friar/editor of the Nuttall Codex
a man who was color blind? The bird form disappears in the red color, just
as the
discovery date of Canada in 1390 disappears on a map of Coronelli,
P. Vincenzo Maria, done in 1695 because it is placed on a red boundary
line.
Although Three Flint's interaction with the heavens actually
begins on page 1 and continues on throughout the pages of the story, the
gods transfer their beneficios to human about page 42 when Tlaloc holds
a conversation with a goddess of earth vegetation. From that point onwards,
different cities of Mexico accept or reject the stellar gods.
In La Mojarra, Mexico on Stela 1, the same story appears
on one side of the stela with time elements. The results of the events
are placed on the other side of the monument face. It will be interesting
to discover what more is on this stela.
