"Shootingway" is a sand painting is made on the fourth day of a healing ceremony. The healing ceremony relates to the mid-section of the body, mainly the respiration and gastro-intestinal diseases This medicinal concept agrees with the event of the meteorite fallout. The flaming "egg" of creation fell into the maw of the earth (Lake Texcoco?) and became the two gods Ehecátl, the god of wind and Huitzilopochtli, the god who emerged from the volcano to save his mother the (reflector of the) moon: the Lake. The figure on the left Mother Earth, contains sacred plants. Father Sky, on the right, contains, the sun, the moon, and several constellations, including the Milky Way. Here one can see a net around the shoulders of the figure. The drawing of this Sky God is found on the pottery bowl of the Maya at the time of the new government, that of the Bird, Earth and Sky Gods Having a Discussion and it is found on the Mississippi Gorget which shows a flying bee god.
In this sand painting, the sun and the moon could also be Mars (Latin for the Greek Ares) and Venus (Greek: Aphrodite) of several myth variants, the two planets caught in the net placed together with the constellations that were in the heavens at the time. The net was only the great shimmering tail of the comet which appeared to encircle the two planets, as if to ensnare them. See new information about this event in The Rebellion which indicates that it was not two planets, but the planet Venus in her normal orbit near Orion, (once called Ares by the Greek or Mars in Latin), the constellation. With the passing of the comet, Venus (Aphrodite) was apparently pushed into a deeper orbit when she reached Orion. This was an event the records say occurred between the two planets who actually remained in their proper orbits. But from earth, it appeared that they were trapped within the golden net of the comet's tail. When the stars danced out of place, some cultures said that the gods were laughing very hard. Other nations decided that the gods were drunk and rowdy.
These stories about the comet reappear in every country in the world as
myth. The flight of bees is heralded by a droning sound, and if one is
careless, with multiple stings on the body. Meteorites that fall en masse
would also emit a droning sound as they enter our atmosphere. The stars that
remained in the heavens were recorded for posterity. The Mother and
Father images are horned god figures. Venus is a horned goddess, the Moon
is a horned goddess and a volcano is a horned bull god form. It does not
matter if the bull is a buffalo or a longhorn steer. The rumbling of the
earth during a stampede is similar to the groans and rumbles that come from
beneath the ground when a volcano is waking. Since dormant volcanoes contain
clear pools of water within their craters: the first star viewing and
measuring schools may have begun in such areas under the protection of the
Mother and Father gods.
The constellations found in these two images
may be imaginary, due to the passage of time and the severe oppression during
the early days of this country. It is difficult to retain true relationships
when the knowledgeable elders have to flee with the younger, stronger
citizens. Their strength was waning and they may not have had the time during
flight to relay all the information remembered. Nevertheless, they have left
a strong legacy of learning.
