Saith I, "Daniel, the Younger, the priest [say] now I come to instruct you in wisdom with this powerful hand with a broad and full explanation so that all who wish to engage in its work [run with it] can read into it in an easy, clear manner fully explained

[In} everything that should be known for in the seasons we begin from "Nisan" according to the opinion of Rabbi "Joshua" and after it, the season of Tammuz; and after it, the season of Tishri; and after it, the season of Tevet; and you must know how many years you are from the Great Cycle [of 28] as in that year the sun continually returns to the beginning of her creation in the season of "Nisan" at the beginning of the eve of the 4th day; and in them the circuit of the sun goes through four seasons of the year as they were and afterward, if you want to know, the season of Nisan comes at the beginning of the cycle.

The above poem in the fingers have the same roots as the previous proper translation by Danny Matt, but it has errors that a child might make: The translation might be the following:
Follow the Sun crosswise, her time
Go around the home of the Sun and the Moon,
Read repeatedly (and) delve into,
The memory of the nation's wisdom (in the) realm
Of the ship's trail. Ask the appointed time (*to) withhold,
The stoney place of knowledge; See with inner vision (and) teach
A Judean wisdom. Remind (him of) knowledge of her
Abundance; Teach the light of instruction for her.
(Note *: (of) her elite (nobles).

A new set of words in the fingers, based upon common errors a child would make as [s/]he struggles to learn to write Hebrew, the poem above tells a story very different from the original.

If we take into consideration that the children of any nation is the life line of its future, their role in this YAD cipher was very necessary. The cipher is fairly simple to understand, has nothing to do with changing a calendar into Julian or Gregorian. It holds the key to reading the history of their ancestors.

Following the rule as it was laid out by Abraham Zacuto,
of the eve of the 4th day. . .
We can translate the above into:
Begin at Nisah (the Journey, or Exodus) at the beginning
of the eve (first watch) of the 4th
day. . .
Since we are to read a book, one must change "day' into "chapter." The fourth Finger (Little Finger) gives us Tevet (Winter). However, the notation above the finger tells us that it has a "short night." The season with a short night isTammuz, not Tevet. So verses 1 and 6 should not be read; instead one should read 11, 21, and 31 of Exodus. And since children, in the beginning of their learning curve read many things backwards, we should read verses 11, 12, and 13.
